The Patriotic and People-Oriented Science & Technology Bulletins

The PPST, a youth group active during the 80s, was one of the primary ones to do original and authentic research work in several socially relevant Science and Technology issues and publish these through their bulletins. These articles have been digitalized and made available in an as is  basis by Samanvaya with the help of DesiCrew. We acknowledge and appreciate the DesiCrew team for taking up the painstaking work of typing and proofreading all the documents. Please do refer to the original for citation and any clarifications.

'Kadamaiyai Sei' (Do your Duty)

A Legal Awareness Journal in Tamil, conceptualised, initiated and edited by self-learned legal expert and activist, Thiru. "Warrant" Bala. He is not a formally trained lawyer. He taught himself law to fight his own case when as part of a labour union his employer took him to court. Since then he has found the judiciary to be his calling in life. He spends most of his time teaching himself the laws of the land and creating innovative methods of using law for ordinary citizens to fight the legal system - courts, judges and lawyers. Today he is a one man mobile legal university. The points he makes in his newsletter and two books published so far have been quoted by lawyers in courts and other even referred to by policemen.

His current mission is to spread legal awareness among the inmates of jails across Tamilnadu. He feels many of them do not need to waste money with lawyers and if only they were aware of their legal rights and privileges they could fight their own case. His bi-monthly news journal is one of the primary ways that legal awareness amidst public takes place in Tamil Nadu today. 'Kadamai Sei' is written in easy Tamil with much passion and down to earth approach to legal issues and asking some critical questions that experts in the judiciary system should be contending with today. Samanvaya is happy to make available earlier copies of this news journal. Please click on the links below to view / download the PDF versions. You can write to us or call Bala at 09842909190 to subscribe to the same.
